Saturday we had a great hike to Haley Park in the Key Peninsula park system.
The trail is marked by a small sign and hard to find if you have not been there previously. The park itself is situation on the coast of the sound and has maybe two or three campsites. It is undeveloped so there are no restrooms. It was great for an early season trek that is near Tacoma without much of a drive. There is also some adjacent marsh area that might be a concern for mosquitoes in the warmer months. Overall, very enjoyable.
Thirteen of us headed out, the hike took about 40 minutes each way and we stopped at the beach for about a half-hour. It was a great chance to grab a snack and let the dogs chase birds.
